KCAI ANIM: Hunting and Gathering Project , Part 1

People need time to relax, to feel peacefulness in their hearts and empty their heads of all the thoughts. People need time to live in the moment. The Jannes library lawn with all the beautiful trees surrounding it is such a place for me. It is a place where I can feel so many positive emotions together with someone precious by my side. . .

Children find the strangest places to play house in. I decided that the best place to create a comfortable home was inside a building ring of a well. All I had to do is find a board and bring in my toys and I was settled. It really was a small nice place where I could easily fit in and make clay figurines all day long.

  1. I love the color on part one and the philosophy :)

  2. I colored one really catches my eyes. I just feel sorry for you next assignment.

Your memory piece looks very cozy. I see you've set up picnics and tea parties in that pipe there. Looks like a very nice hang out place for kids.

  3. Concept:
Excellent. Both images feel like windows to a very personal vision...one that is represented well by a strong sense of atmosphere. The colored image obviously takes on a higher level of realism (not required obviously, but a welcome result). That sense of light and texture/contrast gives the impression of an actual space, with air, light, life and a temperature almost. Very effective content.

    Composition:
Excellent. Both images are wise choices given the content. There is more viewer intimacy in the childhood memory, but that makes sense because it is a very private place. The library image speaks more to a serene peace that is possible to enjoy in a public, or shared space.

    Detail/execution:
Excellent. The attention to texture and variation, and of course color, is what translates your passion for the image as well as the concept.

    Following instruction:
    Excellent.
